Does stress cause wrinkles?

A little bit of stress is a good thing because those fight or flight hormones can save your life. Whenever the brain gets signals of stress, it tells the body to release adrenalin making the heart beat faster and the senses sharper. Stress makes you ready to rock so to speak but too much of it isn’t good for you. Stress can result to a number of ailments and can even become an ailment on its own that is why there is only a small amount of it that human beings need.
Stress that is ignored or not treated can lead to certain medical conditions. For others it can lead to the development of anxiety disorders. When the demands on the body and on the mind are far greater than one’s ability to cope with the situation, it can lead to serious illness especially when not arrested at an early stage. If you think you are too stressed out, it is best to get professional help asap. Aside from medical ailments, stress also makes one look old or so some studies show. But is there really a link to these two things?

Hillary Clinton’s wrinkles are associated to the weight of world problems she has to deal with but even if many make this assumption, stress and anxiety is not directly linked of premature ageing. In fact, research hasn’t shown ample evidence that these two things will make you look older. Does this mean that there’s no need to worry about premature ageing even when one is stressed out? Not necessarily. Although there isn’t a direct link to stress and getting wrinkles, it still pays to be extra careful when it comes to stress. Stress after all can lead to other types of problems.

What should you do if you are stressed out? Resting for a certain time will help you get rid of stress but if this does not do the trick, it is time for you to find the solution to your problems to eliminate further stress. Wrinkles on the other hand are something that one can easily remove either through surgery or using cosmetics. Another option is changing your lifestyle i.e. eating healthy food and detoxifying when needed. But before you can get rid of your wrinkles, one has to know the pathogenesis of it. Wrinkles are grooves on the skin are caused by the loss of elasticity in skin tissues making them more prone to sag and fold.

  2. Carrot and beet juice are as good as coconut oil when it comes to rebuilding skin tissue.
  3. Exfoliate your skin at least once a month so that you can get rid of dead skin cells. You can exfoliate using pineapple juice too, isn’t that fun? You can drink the rest if you want to.
  4. Beef up your diet with antioxidants. Antioxidants are good for the skin and apart from keeping your skin looking young, it will also make it clearer. Antioxidants are good for the body too.
